Ultra high pressure jetting
High or Ultra High Pressure Water Jetting is the normal method for cleaning tube bundles. Other applications can be anything from the removal of hard deposits in drains and sewer to Hydro Demolition, where concrete structures are reduced or reinforcing bar exposed.
The work requires highly skilled trained operators with the experience to undertake the many types of tasks that come up. Pressures of up to 40,000psi (2600 bar) are used. All operators have undergone the Water Jetting Association approved training to “blue book” standard, and have been mentored by experienced Supervisors and Team Leaders as ongoing “on the job” training.
Personal Protective Equipment is the last defence against lacerating effects of high pressure jets, every effort is made to exclude the operator from the danger zone by the use of lancing tables and other remote operating techniques. Kevlar body armour (Turtle Suits) is worn when this is not practical.
