Hazardous Waste

A multi-million pound investment in our hazardous waste management facility has ensured development of cutting edge treatment technologies and we work to the same standard as the best waste management performers in Europe. Our aim is to implement a fully integrated waste management system that emphasises waste prevention, maximises recycling, recovers energy from waste that cannot be recycled and minimises landfill.
The Service
-
Chemical analysis of waste material is carried out on samples and again upon delivery of waste at the facility to confirm as declared.
-
Waste is treated to reduce hazards and is then recycled where possible/appropriate
-
Waste to energy initiatives: on site Biomass Boiler recovers energy from waste, providing steam and hot water for further on-site applications
-
Ultra Filtration and Biological treatment involves the treatment of effluent streams, reducing chemical oxygen demand (COD) and removing contaminants to allow discharge to foul sewer and the recovery of oils
-
Decontamination of used rags, wipes and PPE is a valuable service, used across many industries to help solve a long standing problem of disposing of contaminated materials through a cost effective and ‘re usable’ route
-
Oil/water treatment involves a system of ultrafiltration & microbiological reaction
-
Chemical spillages such as pesticides, laboratory and industrial chemicals are cleaned up quickly and safely by our experienced staff, who provide all necessary documentation
-
Secondary liquid fuel: Liquids carrying a high calorific value are collected and processed as valuable fuel for the cement industry – safeguarding natural resources and also significantly reducing final disposal costs
-
Drum and IBC reconditioning and laundering allows reuse of chemical packaging
The facility is long established and services both waste producers and the wider waste industry. We are respected in the industry for our integrity; both in maintaining customer confidentiality and our high standard of service.
